Let’s start by saying Palomino was contacted, but with every other review I see the same deal... nothing, silence, no reply.

We have always been a Forest River family. My parents own a Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel that they love!

I went with a Forest River product based on a tried and true family legacy. I stand corrected.

We purchased a brand new HS-8801 Palomino Truck camper in 2019. It is very disappointing because the overall layout, components and design is a good one. However, the fit and finish is deplorable. I had a loose anchor tie down that nearly destroyed the camper on a trip home and found the screws a third of the way out! An inspection of the other anchor points also indicated loose fittings. The caulking work was dirty and messy. Holes behind cabinets were smashed through with a hammer rather than drilled. Screws are stripped in their hole or drilled in so far they crack the framing, leaky fittings, Trim work falling out. Its a good thing I am handy or I would have never had a chance to use it!! The camper would probably be a permanent fixture at the dealership! Never, never again!! Shame on you Forest River!

We have also run into this problem in the past when we've brought from an 'out of dealer' to get a better sale price. RV warranties are not like a car warranty, in that the manufacturer does pay a very good reimbursement rate for warranty repair.

As a result, most dealerships, especially now while everybody is busy, do not want to take on a 'new' customer for warranty repair.

Knowing this will affect my buying decision on our next RV. Hope this helps!

Slide leak

It was recently discovered that I have a slide area leak on my 2017 Puma 29QBBS travel Trailer. We are first time buyers of a travel trailer. It was stored the last 8 months and when I extended the slide for a trip, i have wood rot under the floor on the left side of the floor at slide after extended. It will require replace an area halfway along the floor in the main camper area. Very disappointing. I inspected the exterior and noticed the slide is tighter on the left more than the right by at least 2 inches. It seems that the seal gets stuck inside being jam and may have cause water leakage. The entire slide appears to be misaligned. Not sure what they will do to help.

User's recommendation: look at operation of slide closely.

Did not order, but was charged for this unknown product.

I was charged on my ATM Bankcard and I have never heard of nor have I ever used this product. I called the number on my bank statement but they said I had the correct number but they had no knowledge of, nor were they affiliated with the "Palomino" company or product. They charged me a little over $100.00 and I am going to contact my bank to get my money.

Avoid this company.

The whole RV 2019 Puma Destination is a mess. So many leaks so many shady workmanship. Unbelievable, but we found out a loop hole to return the rv in Florida. Such a upset. Be warned!! Avoid forest river!!

Water Rot

Back in 1992 purchased a brand new Palomino Filly pop up camper. Enjoyed for 6 years with the kids and family. We took very good care of this thing. After our last trip in 1998 we dried it out before closing it like we always do. In 2000 when I went to open it the whole canvas had disintegrated from mold. Water had some how gotten into this poorly manufactured garbage of a camper. After ripping out the useless canvas discovered all the wood in the rear left side floor to the upper shell had rotted away to a soft sponge. My thought was in two years of being closed it couldn't have rotted as bad as it did, but it did. Some how water had leaked or wicked from around the shell or possibly the poorly installed molding that surrounds all the seams of the aluminum covering. Since 2000 kept the camper in the garage hoping to repair it some day. Whined the clock forward to September 2019, decided to take the old camper out of storage to convert into a utility trailer. I went to YouTube to get an idea how various people were converting their camper trailers to a utility trailer? My first two videos, guess which camper people were converting because of water leak and rotted wood issues, yep, you guessed it right, a Palomino product. Looks like I wasn't the only unfortunate soul to experience Palomino Camper Water Rot Syndrome (PCWRS). While taking the Palomino apart discovered more wood rot along the whole front side of the top shell and more rot in the front side from the top shell all the way down to the cooler located on the lower right side of the entry way. On top of all this when I wend to serviced the wheel hubs discovered the big hub Castle nut washer was missing. This is the big washer that suppose to be installed between the big spindle Castle nut and the front bearing. So on top of Palomino giving you a cheap camper at a premium price they put you in an unsafe condition when going down the road. Hope this review was hopeful in deciding if your next camper will be a PCWRS.

No resolution for roof leak

We own a Columbus 201* 298RLC fifth wheel. During a very heavy rain, a leak was determined in the living area at a seam on the roof. A check of the roof, outside, shows no visible openings, however there seem to be areas along the roofline that appear to be bubbled. We winter in Florida and do not want to have a problem while there. We are at a stalemate with the dealer and Forrest River since there doesn't appear to be a visible area that needs addressing. After looking over the Forums there is a service called Sealtech that can be performed to determine leaks. Why on earth would this not be done, since my dealer, who has my camper, has this system? It was not even brought to my attention that they offer this service!! Does customer service not seem to be a priority? Plus I'm told that the cost for this is my responsibility!! Really?? My camper is barely a year old! It almost seems like Forrest River washes their hands of these units as soon as they leave the plant, and will only service them if the customer/dealer jumps up and down to get some answers. POOR!!! It also seems as if they really hate to return a phone call after 4 attemps and messages left. Shame on YOU!!!

I purchased a 2019 35’ Puma with three slides. Before I can close the slide with the table and sofa, I first have to take the table down.

If I don’t, it will hit the island. Very poor design, not something you think about when purchasing, but a true pain when you use the trailer.

I installed a swivel on the table. Doing some other improvements, but you can only make quality updates to a few items without major changes.

Repair service

my 2015 solaire developed soft spots in the center flooring near the center sink. I had it inspected and found out that there is no support under the floor it is just open. The guy that inspected it (cost 265) used to work for Forest River and knows the coach. He is going to put in supports (his company is RV Masters, Hemet Calif) the work is scheduled for April 8th. I am in touch with the warranty agent for Palomino, division that makes Solaire units. they have offered only 500 dollars and that only after i send them before and after pictures. While that is better than nothing i will still be out over 1000. Paying for what is clearly a manufacturing fault. Yes if they don't cover the job i will join the ranks of pissed off customers

Extrelel poor qualitiy material and workmanship.

I purchase a SolAire bunk model RV Oct 2015, I have bee plagued with problems, large slide out floor separate from walls, Repair was covered by warranty, reason for separation, Too much pressure on original screws they snapped. Still not fixed. Dinette set really poor quality, got so fed up glued the seats to backing Foam fill poor quality, little or no memory. Window screens wont stay put. I swatted a fly under the skylight in the bathroom, skylight popped of. Had to use epoxy to fix it, Furnace instructions require a filter, no fitting for one, use an external filter taped over air intake inside unit. I complained that the new type floor BeauFlor dyes were not stable and were staining the carpet. I complained within 6 months. Was told by the warranty dept. they were sorry but they use really poor quality carpet, Sorry JAMES FOR THE STAIN. was what i was told by the company, The carpet can't be cleaned, even professionals cant do it. Today i was told too bad its out of warranty. If you plan on buying one of these units please do some research, I wish i had.

Complaint

Palomino Rv - Complaint
Top blew off of Palomino Truck Camper..They should lock when the top is closed and unlatched to open..Was told by Palomino they are designed to blow off so as to not damage the rest of the camper. There should be at least a warning sticker by the lock on the outside of the door or and also a tag on the key chain as a reminder to latch the latches..Is it going to take a death to fix this situation I am afraid. Nowhere in the manuals does it mention anything about the latches.. Palomino or Eieco-Titan who make the electric roofs.. tried to add a photo no success
